The pharma companies’ financial performance influences
the share prices in the stock markets. The movements of the share prices result
in returns computed on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual
basis. For traders the return analysis helps to decide the period for which they
have to hold the shares to maximize the returns. Normally the traders shall not
hold the stock for more than a week period. Investors will hold the stock for more
time to yield the better returns. This paper analyses whether trader can earn a
batter return or the investor for a selected and fundamentally good large cap pharma
company shares.

Institutional and Socio Economic Factors influencing
the Participation of Indian Farmers in Poultry Farming
Vidhya Priya P. and Mohana Sundari M.
Poultry farming plays an effective role in improving
the economic status of the rural people by increasing their income besides providing
nutritious food through meat and eggs. From the farmers' point of view, contractual
arrangement can provide them with access to production services, credit as well
as knowledge of new technology and moreover pricing arrangements can reduce the
risk and uncertainty. Contract farming can act as an effective tool in mitigating
risks faced by farmers while marketing of broiler produce to final consumer. This
study is an empirical analysis of the gains from contract farming in poultry production
in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. Contract production is more efficient than
noncontract production. Despite this, contract growers still gain appreciably from
contracting in terms of lower risk and higher expected returns. Improved technology
and production practices as well as the way in which the processor selects growers
make these outcomes possible.
